- On June 18, the Indian Navy inducted INS Arnala, the first in the series of Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Craft (ASW-SWC) at the Naval Dockyard in Visakhapatnam.
- The commissioning ceremony was presided over by Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan.
- INS Arnala has become the first of 16 such ASW-SWC ships to be inducted into the Indian Navy.
- The ship was handed over to the Navy on June 8.
- Its name is inspired by the historic Arnala Fort located off the coast of Maharashtra.
