- His appointment will be effective from September 1, 2025. His term will last for five years.
- The appointment is part of a wider succession plan. It is yet to be approved by the company's shareholders.
- Current MD Dilip Sanghvi will step down from his post. He will take over as Executive Chairman.
- Ganorkar has been with Sun Pharma since 1996. He has been leading the India business since 2019.
- Abhay Gandhi, President and CEO of North America, is leaving the company. Richard "Rick" Ascroft will replace him.
