International Chemistry Olympiad

  • India gained international fame at the 57th International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO) held in Dubai, where all four participants won medals.
  • Devesh Pankaj Bhaiya of Maharashtra and Sandeep Kuchi of Telangana won two gold medals.
  • Debdutta Priyadarshi of Odisha and Ujjwal Kesari of Delhi won silver medals.
  • 354 students from 90 countries participated in the event held from July 5 to 14.
  • India finished sixth in the overall medal tally along with Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Israel.
  • This was India's 26th appearance at the IChO, where students have consistently put up impressive performances.
