'Chief Minister Nijut Moina 2.0' scheme

  • On August 6, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma launched the 'Mukhyamantri Nijut Moina 2.0' scheme in Guwahati.
  • The scheme has been launched to support the monthly financial assistance scheme to increase the enrollment of girls in higher education.
  • The application forms for the scheme were formally distributed by the Chief Minister at the Birinchi Kumar Barua Auditorium of Guwahati University.
  • Simultaneous distribution events were held across the state to ensure wider participation and awareness.
  • Nijut Moina is considered to be a flagship scheme of the Assam government aimed at reducing the dropout rate among girls and increasing enrollment in colleges.
  • Under the scheme, financial assistance will be provided to girls studying in government and government-aided institutions from higher secondary to postgraduate level.
