Singapore-India Maritime Bilateral Exercise, SIMBEX-25

  • Indian Naval Ship Satpura has arrived in Singapore to participate in the 32nd edition of Singapore-India Maritime Bilateral Exercise, SIMBEX-25.
  • The exercise commenced with the Harbour Phase. This phase includes expert-level exchanges, professional engagements and operational discussions.
  • INS Satpura will be joined by Singapore Naval Ships RSN Vigilant and RSN Supreme.
  • The preparatory activities are focused on sharing naval expertise and aligning operational procedures.
  • The participants are also conducting familiarisation visits to each other's ships.
  • These efforts reflect the growing trust and cooperation between the Indian Navy and the Republic of Singapore Navy.
  • SIMBEX-25 supports India's maritime outlook under the 'Ocean' initiative.
  • It is also in line with the Act East Policy, which promotes stronger regional engagement.
  • The sea phase includes a wide range of advanced naval exercises.
  • These include air defence exercises, cross-deck helicopter operations and precision targeting.
