14th Sirarakhong Hathai Chilli Festival

• A three-day festival was organized in Manipur to promote the GI-tagged Hathai chilli.

• On September 16, the 14th Sirarakhong Hathai chilli festival was inaugurated in Sirarakhong village, Ukhrul district, Manipur.

• The festival was inaugurated by Thaithuiluang Pamei, IAS, Horticulture and Sericulture Commissioner, Government of Manipur.

• The festival was organized to promote the GI-tagged Hathai chilli, which is renowned throughout India for its unique aroma and flavour.

• Farmers, community leaders, and dignitaries came together to promote agricultural heritage, environmental sustainability, and national development initiatives.

• The event was inaugurated with a ceremonial flag hoisting ceremony, highlighting the cultural significance of the festival.
