World Polio Day,2025

• World Polio Day is observed every year on October 24 to raise awareness about the importance of polio vaccination to protect every child from poliomyelitis (polio).

• This year, the theme of World Polio Day is "End Polio: Every Child, Every Vaccine, Everywhere."

• Rotary International launched it to commemorate the birthday of Jonas Salk, who led the first team to develop a vaccine against poliomyelitis.

• The World Health Assembly committed to polio eradication in 1988.
