Nitish Kumar sworn in as Bihar Chief Minister for a record tenth time

  • Earlier on November 19, Nitish Kumar was elected leader of the NDA Legislative Party without any consensus.
  • His election followed a formal selection as leader of the JD(U) Legislative Party in a meeting with newly elected MLAs.
  • Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha were re-elected as leader and deputy leader of the BJP Legislative Party.
  • Their leadership proposals were put forward by Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, acting as the central observer.
  • The swearing-in ceremony took place after the NDA's landslide victory in the assembly elections, winning 202 out of 243 seats.
