Odisha's first woman chief secretary

• Anu Garg has been appointed as the Chief Secretary of Odisha, becoming the first woman to hold this position.

• Her appointment comes after the retirement of the current Chief Secretary, Manoj Ahuja, on December 31, 2025.

• She is a 1991 batch IAS officer and has over three decades of administrative experience.

• She is currently serving as the Development Commissioner-cum-Additional Chief Secretary.

• She also holds the additional charge of the Water Resources Department.
