• On December 7, veteran actor Kalyan Chattopadhyay passed away at the age of 82 after being hospitalized due to age-related ailments.

• Kalyan Chattopadhyay was born in 1942 in Berhampore, Murshidabad district, West Bengal.

• He was a graduate of the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune.

• His film career began in 1968 with Tapan Sinha's film Apajan.

• He acted in notable films such as Pratidwandi, Sagina Mahato, Dhanni Meye, Safed Haathi, Paar, and Kahani.
