- Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Chairman Tarique Rahman was sworn in as the new Prime Minister of Bangladesh following parliamentary elections.
- President Mohammad Shahabuddin administered the oath of office to him in the Jatiya Sangsad.
- The ceremony took place hours after the newly elected BNP members were administered the parliamentary oath by Chief Election Commissioner A.M.M. Nasir Uddin.
- Immediately after the swearing-in, Prime Minister Rahman met with foreign dignitaries, including Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla.
- Rahman, 60, returned to Bangladesh on December 25, 2025, after more than fifteen years in exile.
