Delhi Lakhpati Daughter Scheme

  • On February 10, the Delhi government launched the 'Delhi Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana' to promote girls' education and financial security.
  • This scheme is an upgraded version of the 2008 Ladli Yojana.
  • Under the scheme, financial assistance of up to ₹56,000 per beneficiary has been announced.
  • This assistance will be deposited in installments linked to age and different stages of education, from birth to graduation or diploma level studies.
  • The deposited amount will be invested through structured financial instruments to ensure growth over time.
  • Upon maturity, the funds will be transferred directly to the beneficiaries' Aadhaar-linked bank accounts.
  • Eligibility is limited to girls born in Delhi whose family income does not exceed ₹1.20 lakh per year.
