World NGO Day 2026

• World NGO Day is celebrated annually on February 27 to recognize and honor all non-governmental and non-profit organizations.

• The theme of World NGO Day 2026 is "Restoring Dignity through Inclusion."

• It was first proposed by the Baltic Sea NGO Forum in 2010. It highlights the work of NGOs worldwide.

• In 2014, the United Nations, European Union leaders, and international organizations adopted February 27 as World NGO Day.

• It is celebrated in more than 89 countries and on more than six continents.

• The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland hosted the global inaugural event of World NGO Day on February 27, 2014, in Helsinki, Finland.
