Yoga Mahotsav 2026

  • On April 7, the Ministry of Ayush formally launched the 75-day countdown for International Yoga Day 2026—marked by the 'Yoga Mahotsav 2026'—in Lonar, Maharashtra.
  • A record was set as approximately 5,000 participants simultaneously performed *Trikonasana* (Triangle Pose); this achievement has been officially recorded in the Asia Book of Records.

  • This initiative has been hailed as a powerful beginning toward a global celebration of yoga and holistic health.
  • During the event, emphasis was placed on the significance of yoga in promoting physical fitness, mental well-being, and emotional balance.
  • The concept of 'Ayush Aahar' (Ayush Diet) was highlighted, encouraging the consumption of natural food items such as millets, ragi, and medicinal spices.
