Selection Process
- Stage I – Indian Navy Entrance Test (INET)
- Computer-Based Exam (CBT): Tests subject-specific knowledge and general aptitude
- State-wise Shortlisting: Candidates are shortlisted based on INET marks; cut-off is determined on a state-by-state basis
- Stage II – Assessment & Medicals (at designated Naval Centre such as INS Chilka)
- Physical Fitness Test (PFT): 1.6 km run, squat ups, push-ups, and bent knee sit-ups as per prescribed standards
- Written Examination: Secondary written test specific to Stage II
- Recruitment Medical Examination: Comprehensive medical and visual standards test conducted by military doctors
- Final Selection
- State-wise Merit List prepared after Stage II
- Selected candidates undergo final medical formalities before enrollment
