- Bolstering its maritime surveillance and combat capabilities, the Indian Navy inducted the 21st MH-60R Seahawk helicopter in Kochi in July 2026.
- India has signed an agreement with the US to procure a total of 24 MH-60R helicopters, of which 21 have been received by the Navy so far. The delivery of the remaining three helicopters is expected by the end of 2026.

- The MH-60R Seahawk is one of the world's most advanced naval multi-mission helicopters.
- Developed by the US company Lockheed Martin, this helicopter is a naval variant of the Sikorsky Black Hawk family, specifically designed for maritime combat operations.
- It is capable of executing a wide range of missions, including Anti-Submarine Warfare, Anti-Surface Warfare, Search and Rescue, and Special Operations.
- Equipped with state-of-the-art radar, sensors, sonar, and modern weapon systems, this helicopter will play a pivotal role in elevating the Indian Navy's maritime security, surveillance, and combat capabilities to new heights.
