- The Punjab Government has invited applications under the Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme for students belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC) category for the 2026-27 academic session.
- The online application process for this scheme commenced on July 1, 2026, via the National Scholarship Portal. Interested and eligible students can submit their applications online until November 15, 2026.
- The objective of the Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme is to provide financial assistance to economically disadvantaged SC students for pursuing higher education, ensuring that a lack of funds does not hinder their studies.
- This scheme is implemented with the support of the Central Government and benefits SC students pursuing studies in recognized educational institutions after Class 10.
- Only SC students who are permanent residents of Punjab are eligible to apply for the scheme. Applicants must be enrolled in a recognized post-matric course, and their family's annual income must not exceed ₹2.50 lakh.
- Under the scheme, the government will cover the entire tuition fee of eligible students.
- Additionally, students residing in hostels will be provided a maintenance allowance of up to ₹1,200 per month.
- The entire application process will be conducted online through the National Scholarship Portal, making the procedure more transparent, simple, and convenient.
