- Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, is poised to establish a significant presence in the telecom manufacturing sector.
- Plans are underway to develop Asia's first Telecom Manufacturing Zone (TMZ) in the city.
- The project is expected to attract an investment of approximately ₹5,500 crore. So far, 24 companies have shown interest in investing here, a move projected to generate over 18,000 direct employment opportunities.
- About 170 acres of land have been identified for the first phase of the project.
- This includes over 90 acres in the Shrimant Madhavrao Scindia Counter Magnet City (SADA) area and more than 70 acres in the IT Park zone. Efforts to secure additional land are also ongoing in light of the growing interest from investors.
- The state government is formulating a special incentive package to accelerate the project.
