Zimbabwe makes history under ICC leadership

• September 17, 2026, marked a historic day for Zimbabwe Cricket. Tavengwa Mukuhlani, the Chairman of Zimbabwe Cricket, has been appointed as the new Vice-Chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC).

• He will hold this position until November 2027. With this appointment, Mukuhlani has become the first Zimbabwean to ascend to the role of ICC Vice-Chairman.

• Mukuhlani's appointment is also being viewed as a sign of African cricket's growing involvement in the ICC's top administration.

• He has long been associated with the administration of Zimbabwe Cricket; currently, in addition to serving as the board's Chairman, he represents Zimbabwe on the ICC Board.

• Furthermore, Mukuhlani serves on the ICC's Finance and Commercial Affairs Committee and the Nominations Committee.

• His new role reflects Zimbabwe's increasing presence in international cricket administration.
