- The Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) has extended the deadline for its ‘New Amnesty Scheme 2025’ to December 31, 2026.
- This decision provides eligible employers and insured individuals with an additional three-month window to resolve long-standing legal disputes.
- The Ministry of Labour and Employment decided to extend the scheme’s duration following requests received from various stakeholders.
- Previously, the scheme was scheduled to be in effect from October 1, 2025, to September 30, 2026; however, the settlement process can now be completed under the scheme until December 31, 2026.
- This is a one-time dispute settlement scheme aimed at resolving long-pending cases under the Employees' State Insurance Act, 1948.
- It will help in reducing legal disputes, as well as easing the burden of litigation on courts and tribunals.
