International Mother Language Day 2022

• The International Mother Language Day 2022 is being observed on February 21. 

• The day is observed every year for promoting awareness on linguistic and cultural diversity.

• The day is raises awareness with the aim of promoting multilingualism, that is, the ability to speak multiple languages or using multiple languages.

• It is part of a broader initiative of promoting preservation and protection of all languages that are used by peoples across the world, as adopted by the UN General Assembly.
