- Indian weightlifter and 2020 Tokyo Olympics silver medalist, Mirabai Chanu has won the gold medal in the 55kg weight category at the Singapore Weightlifting International 2022 on February 25, 2022.
- Chanu lifted a total of 191 kg (86 kg + 105 kg).
- Australia's Jessica Sevastenko came second while lifting a total of 167 kg (77 kg + 90 kg).
- Aly Cassandra Engelbert of Malaysia finished third with a best effort of 165kg (75kg + 90kg).
- With this win, 27-year-old Chanu has qualified for the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham in the 55kg weight category.
- She has also qualified for Commonwealth Games in 49kg weight category based on Commonwealth ranking.
