New President of Asian Cricket Council (ACC)

• Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi has officially taken charge as the new chairman of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC).

• Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi was the leading candidate to become the new chairman of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) in December 2024.

• When Jay Shah took over as ICC president in December 2024, the position of ACC president fell vacant.

• As per the rotation policy, the position was now to be held by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi.

• However, Sri Lanka Cricket president Shammi Silva was appointed as the new chairman of the ACC in December 2024, denying Mohsin Naqvi the position.
