New Director of National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT)

• Dinesh Prasad Saklani will be the new director of the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCRT).

• He is currently Professor of History at Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University.

• The previous Whole Time Director of NCERT, Prof. Hrishikesh was Senapati whose five-year term ended in November 2020.

•  The new director has been appointed for a term of five years from the date on which he assumes office, or until he attains the age of 65 years, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

• Professor Saklani has been awarded the Vishisht Akademi Award in 2005 by the Punjab Academy of Arts and Sahitya, Jalandhar.
