Noted musician and singer Bappi Lahiri passes away

  • Noted musician and singer Bappi Lahiri passed away on February 16, 2022 due to OSA (Obstructive Sleep Apnea) disease in Mumbai.
  • He was 69 years old.
  • His real name was Alokesh Lahiri but he was fondly called as Bappi Da.
  • He was born on November 27, 1952 in Jalpaiguri, West Bengal.
  • Bappi Lahiri started his career at the age of just 19.
  • He got his first break in the Bengali film Dadu in 1972.
  • In the 1980s and 90s, he made many tremendous sound tracks, including films like 'Vardaat', 'Disco Dancer', 'Namak Halal', 'Dance Dance', 'Commando', 'Gang Leader', 'Sharaabi'.
  • At the same time, in the year 2020, his last Bollywood song was 'Bankas' in the film 'Baaghi 3'.
