National Level Pollution Response Exercise - 'NATPOLREX-VIII'

• Inaugurated the 8th edition of the two day National Level Pollution Response Exercise – 'NATPOLREX- VIII' on 19th April, 2022.

• It is being organized by the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) at the Mormugao Port of Goa.

• More than 85 participants from 50 agencies are participating in the event.

• These include 29 observers from 22 friendly countries and international organizations and two Coast Guard ships from Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.

• The objective of 'NATPOLREX-VIII' is to enhance the preparedness and response capacity of all stakeholders in dealing with maritime spills.

• In addition, it aims to implement the procedures and guidelines contained in the National Oil Spill Disaster Contingency Plan (NOSDCP) at the national and regional level under the SACEP MoU, of which India is a member state.
