World Economic Outlook Update, April 2022

  • According to this, the global growth rate has been estimated at 6.1 percent in the year 2021, which is estimated to be 3.6 percent in the year 2022 and 2023.
  • In this report, India's growth rate has been estimated at 8.9 percent in the year 2021.
  • Which is estimated to be 8.2 percent in the year 2022 and 6.9 percent in the year 2023.
  • Among the BRICS countries, the highest growth rate in the year 2022-23 has been estimated for India (8.2% and 6.9%) respectively.
  • It is followed by China (4.4% and 5.1%), Russia (8.5% and 2.3%), Brazil (0.8% and 1.4%) and South Africa (1.9% and 1.4%).
  • The Indian economy is expected to grow faster than other major emerging economies.
