One Health Pilot Project



  • The Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying has started a pilot project to implement the 'One Health Framework' by 'One Health Support Unit' in the state of Uttarakhand.
  • The primary function of this unit is to develop a 'One Nation, One Health' roadmap based on pilot project implementation.
  • The main objective of the unit is to develop a national level One Health Roadmap based on the inputs from the implementation of the pilot project.
  • An Inter-Ministerial One Health Committee, headed by the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India, has been set up to lead the implementation of the One Health Support Unit.
  • Some of the key activities to be undertaken as part of this pilot project include implementation of targeted surveillance plan for disease outbreak, spread, management and so on.
