World Chagas Day

  • On 14 April 2022, the third World Chagas Disease Day was celebrated all over the world.

  • On May 24, 2019, the World Health Assembly approved to celebrate this day.
  • This disease is also known as American trypanosomiasis, silenced disease or silent disease.
  • The disease is caused by a parasite called Trypanosoma crizu.
  • He treated the first patient of this disease in Brazil on 14 April 1909.
