International Gandhi Prize for Leprosy - 2021

  • On April 13, 2022, Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu honored Dr. Bhushan Kumar of Chandigarh (individual category) and Sahyog Kushtha Yagya Trust Gujarat (institutional category) with the International Gandhi Award-2021 for Leprosy.
  • He was given this award for spreading awareness about leprosy and for taking care of the people suffering from it.
  • This annual award was instituted by the Gandhi Memorial Leprosy Foundation.
  • The award is given to individuals and organizations who have worked tirelessly to fight leprosy and its associated prejudices.
