- Former Petroleum Secretary Tarun Kapoor has been appointed as an advisor to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
- Kapoor is a 1987 batch Himachal Pradesh cadre officer of the Indian Administrative Service.
- He retired from the post of Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas on 30 November 2021.
- At present, they have been approved for appointment for a period of two years from the date of joining.
