- The Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting (I&B) said that Rs 363 crore has been allotted to take up the world’s largest film restoration project under the National Film Heritage Mission (NFHM).
- The restoration project is set to come up at the National Film Archive of India (NFAI), Pune.
- Under the project around 2,200 films of different languages will be restored.
- The films for restoration have been shortlisted by language-wise committees consisting of filmmakers, film historians, and producers such as Aparna Sen, Shriram Raghavan, Anjali Menon, and Vetrimaaran.
