- The central government is planning to set up state-of-the-art ‘PM Shri schools’ with the aim of preparing students for the future and these schools will act as the laboratory of the new National Education Policy (NEP).
- The announcement of the ‘PM Shri Schools’ was made by Education Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan who was addressing the two-day National Education Minister’s Conference in Gandhinagar, Gujarat.
- This event was attended by the education ministers of 32 union territories and states while Tamil Nadu boycotted this meeting.
