Vertical Launch Missile

• The Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) and the Indian Navy successfully flight-tested the Short Range Surface-to-Air Vertical Launch Missile today from the Chandipur Integrated Test Range off Odisha coast.

• This test was done on June 24, 2022 from the Indian Naval Ship.

• VL-SRSAM is a ship-deployed weapon system, which can neutralize various airborne threats over a limited range, including ocean-skimming targets.

• The system was successfully launched against a high-speed aerial target model aircraft.

• The flight path of the vehicle was monitored using multiple tracking devices deployed by ITR, Chandipur and taking into account the health parameters.
