Akasa Air gets DGCA’s Air License


  • The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) gave the “Air Operator Certificate” to Akasa Air on July 7, 2022.
  • Akasa is a start-up carrier, that has been promoted by ace stock market investor Rakesh Jhunjhunwala.
  • It will start giving services in July end.
  • Akasa Air recently took the delivery of its first Boeing 737 max aircraft on June 21, 2022 in India.
  • The start-up carrier had ordered 72 ‘737 Max’ aircraft from Boeing in November 2021.
  • It includes two variants from 737 MAX family, viz., 737-8 and 737-8-200.
