- A military station and a major road near the Lohit Valley on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) with China were recently named after the country’s first CDS General Bipin Rawat.
- Kibithu is a small village on the banks of the Lohit Valley in the eastern part of India. Kibithu is considered an important place from military and strategic point of view.
- General Rawat commanded his battalion 5/11 Gorkha Rifles at Kibithu as a colonel from 1999-2000 and contributed significantly in strengthening the security structure of the area.
- Chief Minister Khandu named the 22 km long road from Walong to Kibithu as ‘General Bipin Rawat Marg’. A life-size mural of General Rawat was also unveiled on the occasion.
