Mahakal Lok Corridor

• The first phase of the Mahakal Lok Corridor was inaugurated recently by Prime Minister Modi.

• The first phase of the Mahakaleshwar Temple Corridor Development Project was implemented in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh

• Under Rs.850 crore project, the precinct of the Mahakaleshwar temple will be expanded nearly seven times to improve the experience of the pilgrims and provide world-class modern amenities.

• Under the project, the entire area will be decongested and the heritage structures will be conserved and restored.

• The Mahakal Path has 108 stambhs (pillars) that features Anand Tandav Swaroop (Dance form) of Lord Shiva.

• Various sculptures featuring the life of Lord Shiva will be depicted along the Mahakal Path.

• The mural wall along this path depicts the Shiva Purana stories like Ganesha’s birth, Story of Sati and Daksha and such fables.
