- As India assumes the G20 presidency and prepares to host the G20 Leaders’ Summit for the first time in 2023, the education ministry is making preparations for the various events that will take place.
- The ministry has launched a unique outreach campaign called University Connect, which aims to involve young people in India’s G20 presidency.
- As part of this campaign, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has written to universities and colleges, requesting that they begin preparing students for conferences and other events related to the G20.
- The UGC has asked students to serve as facilitators for foreign delegates, provide translation assistance, and organize cultural shows, workshops, and lectures on topics related to the G20.
- The Indian Knowledge System (IKS) division, an innovation cell within the All India Council for Technical Education, has been tasked with showcasing India’s knowledge systems to the world.
