• Odisha has won the World Habitat Awards 2023 for its Jag mission.

• Jag Mission is an initiative of the Government of Odisha to upgrade around 3000 slums in Odisha.

• It has won bronze for the second time in an award show organized by World Habitat in partnership with UN-Habitat.

• The initiative had earlier won the award in 2019. Jag Mission is a land titling and slum upgradation program aimed at empowering slum dwellers.

• Under the initiative, in the last five years, 1,75,000 families have been provided with land patta security.

• The Government of Odisha has set a target to make Odisha the first slum free state of India.
