Aviation Safety Oversight Ranking

• India has moved up to 55th position in ICAO's Aviation Safety Oversight Ranking.

• India's aviation safety oversight ranking has moved from 112th to 55th with a significant improvement in the score.

• The ICAO Coordinated Validation Mission (ICVM) was implemented in India from 9 to 16 November 2022 under the Universal Safety Oversight Audit Program (USOAP).

• ICAO audits all contracting states under this programme.

• The ICAO Coordinated Validation Mission covered the areas of LEG, ORG, PEL, OPS and AGA on site.

• The ICAO team reviewed progress in addressing 137 Protocol Questions (PQs).

• LEG stands for Primary Aviation Legislation and Specific Operating Regulations while ORG stands for Civil Aviation Organization.
