New Director General of Sashastra Seema Bal

• Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Rashmi Shukla has been appointed as the Director General of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB).

• The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Rashmi Shukla.

• She was on central deputation to CRPF in Hyderabad.

• SSB is a border guarding force of India deployed along the borders of Nepal and Bhutan.

• It is one of the Central Armed Police Forces under the control of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
