  • The country's 3,000-member rubber-stamp legislature formally appoints him as president for the next five years.
  • There was no other candidate in the election.
  • Xi has also been elected as the chairman of China's Central Military Commission for a third term.
  • In October 2022, Xi Jinping was re-elected as General Secretary of the Communist Party for a record third five-year term.
  • In 2018, Xi Jinping himself removed the two-term limit on the presidency.
