Naval Exercise Prasthan


  • The Indian Navy conducted Exercise Prasthan in the Offshore Development Area off Mumbai.
  • The Indian Navy conducted the exercise along with other defence, state and civilian agencies.
  • It is a biennial coordinated exercise. It is organized every six months.
  • It is conducted to validate procedures for handling contingencies that may occur in oil production platforms.
  • The current edition of the exercise was conducted on the Greatdrill shadow platform.
  • The Greatdrill shadow platform is located approximately 30 nm southwest of Mumbai Harbour.
