New chairman of LIC

• LIC interim chairman Siddharth Mohanty has been appointed as the regular chairman of LIC till June 29, 2024.

• After this date, Mohanty will serve as the CEO and MD of LIC till June 7, 2025 or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

• In March 2023, Mohanty replaced MR Kumar as the interim chairman of LIC for a period of three months.

• In May 2022, the Center raised Rs 20,560 crore in the initial public offering of LIC. It was the biggest IPO ever in the country.
