Gender Equality Report, 2023





  • According to the Gender Gap Report 2023, India ranks 127 out of 146 countries in terms of gender equality.
  • India was ranked 135th in the 2022 edition of the report. India has improved by 1.4 percentage points from the previous edition.
  • According to the report, India has achieved parity in enrollment at all levels of education.
  • The report states that India has reduced 64.3% of the total gender gap.
  • However, it achieved only 36.7% equality in economic participation and opportunity.
  • Iceland is the most gender-equal country in the world for the 14th year in a row. As per the report, it is the only country which has reduced its gender gap by more than 90%.
