  • Lavender Festival is celebrated in the Bhaderwah Valley of Jammu and Kashmir.
  • Council of Scientific and Industrial Research-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (CSIR-IIIM) has organized the festival on 4th and 5th June 2023.
  • The festival is a part of CSIR-IIIM's 'One Week One Lab Campaign'.
  • Bhaderwah is considered the birthplace of India's Purple Revolution.
  • The land and climatic conditions of the Bhaderwah region are ideal for lavender cultivation.
  • The purple or lavender revolution was launched in 2016 by the Union Ministry of Science and Technology under the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) Aroma Mission.
