- In a career spanning 34 years, he held several positions including Commander Coast Guard Region (North West), Additional Director General Coast Guard etc.
- In February 2023, he was given the additional charge of Director General Coast Guard.
- He was awarded the Tatrakshak Medal in 2013 and the President's Tatrakshak Medal in 2018.
