New MD & CEO of SBI Card

• India's largest credit card issuer, SBI Cards and Payment Services (SBI Card) has appointed Abhijit Chakraborty as MD and CEO for two years.

• He is currently the Deputy MD in SBI.

• He will take over as MD & CEO of SBI Card on 12 August. He will succeed Ram Mohan Rao Amara.

• Chakraborty will assume his new role at a time when the Indian credit card industry is showing strong growth in terms of volumes and card spends.
