- Sanjay Kumar Agarwal, a 1988 batch Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer, has been appointed as the chairman of the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC).
- Surjit Bhujbal has also been appointed as member of CBIC.
- Sanjay Kumar Agarwal will replace Vivek Johri as the Chairman of CBIC.
- The appointment of Sanjay Kumar Agarwal will be effective from the date of his assumption of charge.
- Bhujbal is currently the Principal Director General in the Directorate of GST Intelligence (DGGI) in New Delhi.
