• India Under-16 team won the SAFF U-16 Championship 2023 by defeating Bangladesh 2-0 in the final.

• Bharat Larenjam (8th minute) and Lewis Jangminlun (74th minute) scored goals for India.

• Under the guidance of head coach Ishfaq Ahmed, India Under-16 team had topped Group A.

• India defeated Maldives 8–0 in the semi-finals.
